"Great is the road I climb, but the garland offered by an easier effort is not worth the gathering." --Sextus Propertius (50BC-16AD) Roman Poet

Motivate: When was the last time anxiety knocked at your front door? Have you ever met stress walking down the street? When did you ever answer the telephone and discover anger on the other end of the line? Things such as stress, anxiety and anger do not exist in real, tangible form. They exist only in you and only with your cooperation. They are not grown in a field or manufactured in a factory. They are created in your head. And as such, there is no need for you to "deal" with them or "resolve" them. You have it in your power to simply annihilate them or, better yet, to avoid giving birth to them in the first place. Do not let your anxieties control you. Do not let them do anything. Do not let them be. Just throw them away. What good are they? Why allow them to clutter and complicate your life? It takes a lot of energy to create and to maintain stress, anxiety and fear. Redirect that energy toward something positive and creative. It's your energy. It's your life. Use it to be joyful.

The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by. The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light.
--Felix Adler

Motivate: When you treat people as if they're no good, they'll prove you right almost every time. Expectations make a significant difference in performance and results. What do you expect of yourself? What do you expect of others? Expectations are often a self-fulfilling prophecy. So it makes sense to expect the very best. Is that reasonable when past experience proves otherwise? Yes, because people can change. You can change. And the beginning of that change is often a change in expectations. The way to get the best out of yourself and others is to expect the best. No matter how disappointed you've been in the past, with yourself or with someone else, the way to start getting positive results is with positive expectations. Expect the best. Proceed under the assumption that you'll get the best, from yourself and others, and you're well on your way to getting it.

The world is good-natured to people who are good natured.
--William Makepeace Thackeray

Persistence will win over just about any advantage. The longer you persist, the closer you are to winning. Even when you are constantly beaten back, even when the road is steep and strewn with giant boulders, keep going. The value of your accomplishment increases with every difficulty you encounter on the way to it. And you must persist in order to realize that value. Whatever it takes, keep going. Every moment you persist builds equity in your dream. The glory, the joy, the fulfillment of life come from persistence through the troubles, the frustrations and the obstacles. You already know that. You've experienced it before. And now, today, is yet another opportunity to keep going, to persist through whatever may come. It's the best opportunity you could possibly imagine. So make the most of it. Keep going. Persist in your efforts. And fulfill your own incredible possibilities.

"When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another." -- Helen Keller

Motivator: Winning athletes practice day after day, month after month, 2 sharpen their skills.
